Speaker: John B. Zumwalt, III, PE

Bio: John B. Zumwalt, III, PE is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PBS&J (Post, Buckley, Schuh & Jernigan, Inc) , Florida’s largest engineering firm (the 21st largest in the nation) with 3,700 employees in 70 offices. He joined the company in 1973 just after graduation from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Under John’s leadership, PBS&J became recognized nationally, voted one of the Top Places to Work for in the industry, won a coveted Stevie Award for Human Resources, the prestigious Cutting Edge Award from the Miami Chamber of Commerce, and names to the 2004 Hot Firm list of fastest growing engineering firms by Zweig White Associates.

Mr. Zumwalt is Past President and Director of the Florida Engineering Society, Past President of the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers, and a Founder of the FES/FICE Leadership Institute. He has been recognized for his outstanding service to the engineering profession and awarded the Governor A.W. Gilchrist Award for public service.

He serves on the Board of Governors of the Florida Chamber, chairs the Florida Chamber Foundation’s Board of Trustees, serves on the Board of Trustees of Florida Tax Watch, and he is a member of the Board of Directors of Enterprise Florida. Mr. Zumwalt is also a member of the Florida Council of 100.

In Focus magazine honored him this year with its South Florida Achievers Award, and he was inducted into the Engineering Hall of Fame at the University of Rhode Island in 2004.

Speaker: Scott W. Braley, FAIA, FRSA

Bio: Scott W. Braley, FAIA, FRSA is Principal and CEO of Braley Consulting & Training. He made his first public speaking presentation in 1981 and has continued to do so to the present day. During the last 20 years, he has presented at the local, regional, and national convention/conference level for SMPS, PSMA, AIA, ACEC, and 16 other national/international associations.

Scott has been a member of both SMPS and PSMA for more than 25 years. He combines 29+ years of experience as a practicing A/E/C professional, with more than 18 years as a public speaker, consultant, and trainer. His dual-career overlapped until late 1997 when he decided to devote full time to his consulting and training practice founding in 1987.

He is a high-energy presenter combining the experience of a veteran marketing and management practitioner with the innovation of a contemporary business consultant/trainer. His audiences consistently give outstanding evaluations noting active attendee participation, insightful content, pragmatic approaches and techniques – presented in a creative and motivational forum.
